Since I was a first year in NUI Maynooth I have had a very strong involvement in a number od Clubs and societies in
NUI Maynooth. Some of the more important ones are listed below.

Astro 2 (Astronomy & Physics)
|
As a first year I was one of the three founding members of Astro2, then the Astronomy and Astroloy Society but now the
Astronomy and Physics Society of NUI Maynooth.
I served as President for two years and Vice-President for a further two. I have now taken a less active role in the society
but still maintain their web site (www.astro2.iwarp.com).
I think it had to be one of the happiest moments of my life when Astro2 won Society of the year in 2000-1.
I have been a member of MiNDS> since it's foundation but have only recently taken an active role in the society as
year's Vice-President for 2001-2.
I have also been elected as Chairperson for the year 2002-3 so I will be spending a LOT of time on MiNDS>
over the next year!
What on earth am I doing in an engineering society??? ... that's a question I have asked myself many times too!!! I guess
their Buletin Boards are the real reason .... hey they made me a moderator!!!
The Badminton Club was the only club I joined in first year and I imediately got elected as a Committee Member.
In my second year I was elected as Secretary for the Club.
It was in my third year that I had my most active role in the club as both it's Vice-President and Chair Person of the
organising committee for the All Ireland Intervarsity Badminton Championships which were hosted in Maynooth that year.
Since then I have taken a much more back seat role in the club.
I am also a member of a number of other clubs and societies in which I don not take an active role.
- Omega (Scifi & Fantasey) - Omega is also one of the newer societies on campus (like Astro2). Gareth does
their excelent web site http://here.at/omega (with a bit of help
from me!!!)
- The Games Society - I'm also a member of the Games Society and play in
Gareth's Game every week.
