They say that the best friends you make in life are those you make in college. Well I couldn't imagine a nicer bunch of people than those I went to college with (and even the lecturers weren't that bad!!!).

In college I'm part of two online comunities, MiNDS> (the Maynooth IT Soc) and Mikado (The Engineering Society?!). MiNDS> is currently down due to the actions of one individual who will remain nameless but there is a good chance will be up by the start of next term (fingers arms, legs .... crossed!). So for the moment the only online comunity that actually works is Mikado (www.mikadosoc.ie). My handel on both is voyager.   

• Siobhan:
  Siobhan lives in Cavan and is one of my very best friends. She is the President of Astro 2 and has been for quite some time! She's in pretty much every society I am. Sadly she has sold her soul to the Devil and is doing her work placement in Intel :o(. I guess I'll just have to forgive her!

• Gareth:
  Gareth (or just Gar) lives in Tallagh but prefers not to be reminded of that fact! He is one of the founders of Omega, the Scifi & Fantasy Society and has held many committee possitions on it. Something I should have mentioned is that he gets VERY annoyed when people misspell his name ... he spels it the Welsh way with one 'r' and a 'th' at the end but has no idea WHY his parents chose the Welsh spelling! Gar like me enjoys web design and has been the web master for Omega since it's foundation. I use him to beta test my Java Scripts!!!

• Elaine:
  Elaine is a native of Lucan but we won't hold that against her ... much! She has a HUGE obsession with Jet Lee and pretty much anything else oriental! Elaine will for ever be remembered as "the Secretary" it seems that every society I join she has been Secretary of it at some point! • Niall:
  Niall hailes from the middle of no where aka Prosperous in Kildare. It;s the only town in Ireland that is an oxy moron, simply put "Prosperous isn't"!!! Niall is only a little first year so I haven't known him as long as the rest of the group but he fits in so well it's as if he's always been around ... he's also permanently stuck to Elaine!!! He is also one of te best programmers I have ever met and I have no doubt he will kick my ass by this time next year.

• Bren:
  Like Niall Bren is also a native of North Kildare but this time from Naas. Bren is a master of many Martial Arts and is therefore not to be messed with! As well as that he also know many and very unpleasant ways of hurting/maiming and killing people and has great fun explaining them to people over a pint and watching them cringe! Bren is very involved with Omega and the Games Soc and was Con director for Dominicon 2002.

As you have probably guessed Wing is not his real name but everytime I use his real name I get a thump on the shoulder so I advise anyone else to do like me and always call him Wing!
